(1932-1933)

Fira Melamedzon as a teenager belonged to Hashomer Hatzair, a Socialist-Zionist scouting organization. She had been a scout only for nine months, maybe a little bit longer, then she left. As a scout she started to learn Hebrew, hoping to go to Palestine in the future. She learnt its basics, but after leaving the shomers (scouts) she forgot everything.

Here are some photographs showing Fira with her acquaintances and friends from Hashomer Hatzair. One of them was Miriam Rotenberg, a girl coming from German Jews and a pupil of German gymnasium. She was two years older than Fira born in 1915.
